was born in 1960 and 65 years later I am still dabbling in radio after being influenced by the early days of Rdio Luxembourgh and BBC Radio 1 – yes, I was once young enough to listen to Radio 1 and know what they were playing!

In 1975 I joined Hospital Radio and then in 1979 it took off from there and too big a long story to cover.

But since then I have worked on a number of small and big radio stations part-time, full-time and freelance.

At my last big radio station when it changed management and then eventually to Regionalise all programmes from the one place, most of us felt that the writing was on the wall and the majority of us jumped ship before it happened (most of us left!).

At that point in 2007 I was quite determined never to broadcast again as I’d done all I wanted to do, but then I was invited to join Best City Radio.

Radio like it used to be in the good old days before the marketing men and accountants took hold!
