Around the World is a weekly, 2-hour, global music programme produced and presented by Davy Sims.

Davy is a multi-award winning media producer specialising in radio and web production. He is also a member of the World Music Charts Europe voting panel which publishes a monthly Top 20+ Chart.

Starting his career in 1979 at Downtown Radio he became known for supporting new bands including some who would become the best known in punk and new wave. He went on to develop and produce a range of shows on BBC Radio Ulster and gave early career breaks to many well-known musicians, journalists and broadcasters. He also worked in BBC Radios 1 and 4.

In 1999 Davy was the first producer in BBC NI's Online service going on to lead New Media until 2008 working in web, mobile, interactive TV and digital communities.

On leaving the BBC he worked with community and voluntary organisations in media training, lectured in Radio Production and since 2019 has produced Around the World.

He now travels, mainly in Europe, discovering new music.
